Letting Agents in Ealing London W5
Area Comments
The pre-eminent West London suburb, Ealing is one of the most significant suburban areas of London, a gateway to the West, hugely varied and filled with great properties. Ealing is a fantastic solution for people looking for a lot more space than that available closer to the centre of town, but it's most notable as a wonderful place to bring up a family.
Ealing occupies a large area, strung out loosely between the great arteries of the A40 and A4, bound by the Ealing Broadway/Uxbridge Road. It is circled by parks more than almost any other area of London (Ealing Common, Gunnersbury, Elthorne to name just three) and is astonishingly green.
The area has everything you could wish for. A thriving and multicultural mix of people, excellent shopping along the Broadway, both in major shopping centres and in smaller stores, and above all for those looking to get kids off to the right start, fantastic local schools at both primary and secondary levels.
In Ealing and North Ealing, the principal areas, fantastic properties are always popular with the mainly family market. There are some excellent flats around Ealing Common, some purpose built and many converted, and if you wend your way a little West of the main Ealing areas into West Ealing, houses and flats tend to be more affordable. The main attraction however is the excellent streets of Victorian and Edwardian houses - which are detached, semis and in terraces. These range in size but are all good, spacious homes. If you're looking for even larger properties you're best off ranging north into the Montpelier Park area and Brentham, where some really impressive properties, again Edwardian and Victorian, are relatively plentiful but also always desirable.
Living in Ealing is seen by the locals - a good mix of new incomers and die-hard locals from all backgrounds - as a literal and metaphorical breath of fresh air. It's a refreshing alternative to Hammersmith and cheaper than Fulham or Chiswick. To an extent, Ealing is where Londoners come to breathe.
