Flats to rent in Merton: Residents see improvements in area
A survey may have given further reasons to seek flats to rent in the London borough of Merton, after finding that residents are happier with the local council.
Findings released by Merton Council revealed that 78 per cent of residents believe the local authority is doing a good job, with people in the area reporting that they are happy with how the council is dealing with their main problems.
Looking at the cleanliness of the streets, there was a seven per cent increase in the number of people saying they think the council's street cleaning operation is good to excellent, while there was a significant fall in the number of residents concerned about anti-social behaviour.
Stephen Alambritis, leader of Merton Council, commented: "We will keep talking with residents and make sure Merton's priorities continue to go hand in hand with those of local people."
This week, it was announced that Merton Council has been shortlisted for an award by the Local Government Chronicle, thanks to its work to improve local theatre groups.
