'Why availability of property to rent is important'
The National Landlords Association (NLA) has issued a statement this week revealing a number of reasons why having a strong private rented sector is vitally important to the housing industry as a whole.
It could therefore be argued it is important that flats to rent in Harrow and property to rent in Tower Hamlets, as well letting residences in other parts of London and the UK, remain available.
NLA chairman David Salusbury said that the private rented sector is "making an evermore important contribution" to the overall property market.
He was reflecting on an article written by John Fitzsimons for lovemoney.com, which highlighted rental property's importance due to homeownership being a privilege rather than a right.
Mr Salusbury remarked: "The UK needs a strong rental sector and this article makes a clear case for offering landlords sufficient space to try and deal with their financial problems."
The chief executive of property investment adviser organisation Assetz, Stuart Law, recently claimed that there has been huge demand for private rented sector homes in recent years.
