Hounslow launches major clean-up operation
A major spruce up initiative has been launched in Hounslow to get the borough looking its best.
Operation Clean Sweep is being unveiled today (June 25th) and it will seek to get the area looking spic and span ahead of the Olympic Games, which get underway on July 27th.
Once the project has been completed, flats to rent in Hounslow may be more attractive to individuals.
Councillor Ruth Cadbury, Hounslow's lead member for the 2012 Olympics, remarked: "Thousands of people involved in the Games will pass through Hounslow, from athletes and officials to visitors from home and abroad and we want them to see the borough at its best."
She added the town centre is going to receive an intensive clean, which will make the area more appealing.
Colin Ellar, Hounslow's deputy leader and cabinet member for environment, stated there will be a daily cleaning regime from June to September as part of the commitment to improving the look of the streets.
