Letting Agents in Vauxhall London SW8
Area Comments
Great inner city area, with fantastic access, Vauxhall is a quietly worn gem in Lambeth's lapel.
The Vauxhall area describes - very generally - a lozenge of property to the north of the Kennington Lane. It's a quiet residential area which has a good variety of housing for the upwardly mobile young professional, as well as establishment types looking for a pied a terre and maybe a quick getaway to the southwest, as well as - of course - great cricket access with the Oval only a couple of minutes away.
You wouldn't think that Vauxhall was a place to look for green space and in literal terms you'd be right; but there are excellent walks along the Albert Embankment towards Westminster's beautiful bridge, and the lovely, oft-ignored Lambeth Palace Gardens to the north.
Vauxhall is quiet, with no real through routes, its main roads taking all traffic alongside it. There are great squares filled with lovely gardens and villas, the mainstay of the housing here - Victorian and Georgain terraces and houses. But there are also some apartments here, transformed from the many industrial spaces and lofts - the Shoreditch/Hoxton effect in action - found here and there. Modern apartments are de rigeur in any riverside location, and can also be found here.
