Vauxhall: Exciting inner city living
Vauxhall is a largely residential area in the London borough of Lambeth, offering inner city accommodation for a range of bank balances. While there are cheaper estates available for those wanting to find housing on a smaller budget, the area has also become somewhat gentrified in recent years. There are a few terraced areas that boast some impressive town houses that are a popular choice for members of parliament as well as affluent professionals.
There are also many opportunities for business and light industrial properties throughout the area. Many companies have often been attracted to Vauxhall throughout the years due to its central location and reasonable rent when compared to areas such as Westminster. Businesses are also able to benefit from a number of modern office opportunities that have sprung up in the last few years.
Inner city living
Being so close to the epicentre of the City of London means that Vauxhall has a lot to offer in terms of things to do and local residents. It is an incredibly vibrant area of the capital with a rich multicultural heritage. Some 120 different languages are spoken throughout the area, granting you the opportunity to learn about, and immerse yourself, in a range of different cultures and belief systems.
Another big plus to living almost smack bang in the middle of one of the most exciting cities in the world is that you are much closer to all other amenities on offer. As transport links are so readily available and varied, you are able to immerse yourself fully in city living and enjoy a range of activities throughout both the daytime and evenings.
There is a great range of nightlife options and shopping destinations within easy reach of Vauxhall, meaning you don't have to travel far to meet all of your needs. Vauxhall is also renowned for its gay nightlife scene, offering a fun and vibrant evening experience, complete with a wide range of entertainment options.
Transport
For those living in Vauxhall, getting anywhere really isn't a problem. Many residents of the City of London seem to view Vauxhall as nothing much more than a transport hub - meaning that accommodation is much cheaper - which shows just how easy it is to find transport to other areas of the capital.
Regular public transport it available throughout the area, meaning that residents are able to commute with ease. Although, as it is a central location, at peak times throughout the day most forms of transportation are incredibly busy. However, hopping on the Tube is much more preferable to putting up with the gridlock that trying to move around in your own vehicle would mean you have to put up with.
Hidden beauty
You might think that being such a central location, Vauxhall might have few green areas to visit. However, residents are able to benefit from living quite close to the Garden museum, which offers beautiful views and green spaces.
You will also be able to benefit from being relatively close to the Tibetan Peace Gardens, which offer a stunning and serene escape from hectic city living. These gardens are in the grounds of the Imperial war Museum, allowing you to take in some culture and London history as you enjoy open spaces and a spot of nature.
