Premier Letting Agents in Putney London SW15
Area Comments
A beautiful riverside location, and sleepy village just on the banks of the Thames, Putney is relaxed and charming, but has a decent little town centre with everything you could want or need.
Putney is of course known mostly as a place to cross one of the prettiest bridges over the Thames and to watch Oxford and Cambridge thrash at each other in boats. But the town centre is thriving and easily compares to the amenities of other areas such as Clapham or Battersea. However, Putney is a little more establishment than these two, and its shops are a broader mix of high street names as well as little individual stores, with a good spread of places to eat and drink along its high street.
Amenities here of course favour the river, with it being a centre - perhaps the centre in London - of rowing activities. There are also wonderful walks alongside the river, and pubs and restaurants exploit the truly gorgeous views over the Thames to the full. But its also near several large open green spaces as one heads inland, close to the commons of Wands worth and Battersea Park amongst others.
Like other riverside areas, there has been a trend towards the development of some very nice waterside developments of apartments and flats in recent years. There are, however, many good roads of absolutely lovely Victorian terraces that spread out from the high street and towards the Richmond area as well as back towards Wands worth. These houses are in the main what prospective buyers look in Putney for. The Victorian terraces in Putney are uniformly excellent, absolutely the top of their kind - medium sized, plush two-storey terraced houses in the main, fitted out wonderfully and offering superb accommodation to professionals and families looking for a lovely riverside location. In the West of the area, there are beautiful Edwardian detached homes of substantial size. But for those interested in either detached or terraced Victoriana, Putney is a dream come true.
