Putney ready for influx of rowing fans
People living in property to rent in Putney can enjoy a superb day of rowing on the Thames this weekend.
Tomorrow (November 5th) sees the annual Head of the River Fours regatta take place at 11:30 GMT.
Around 520 boats are due to take part in the four-mile race between Mortlake and Putney Bridge and hundreds of spectators are expected.
Restaurants, pubs and bars in the town centre are also expected to enjoy a bumper day as rowing fans flock in to the area.
Because of the volume of people expected, residential roads linking Putney Embankment with the Lower Richmond Road will also be closed to all traffic apart from residents.
Meanwhile, parking spaces on Putney Embankment will be suspended from 08:00 GMT and motorists who park their cars there overnight on Friday will need to move them by that time.
Vehicles left in parking bays after 08:00 GMT are likely to be towed away.
Wandsworth Mayor Jane Cooper recently called on local residents to give generously to this year's Poppy Appeal.
