Area Comments
A very rural area, Enfield has been gentrified over the last few years and its good selection of property is now being appreciated by more and more incoming families and commuters looking for a relative bargain.
The revamping of the local shopping centre in the town has spearheaded a bit of a revitalization of Enfield. It had been known as a bit of a backwater, but for the hungry property seeker this of course signals investment; however, these days Enfield provides excellent resources at all levels for those interested in living here. Improved shopping has come at the same time as a revolution in local eating and drinking establishments which are now rather more eclectic and high-quality, with some great little local restaurants and good bars, although if you want true nightlife, it's probably best to head into town.
Enfield is very green, with excellent access to plenty of local parks and the massive wetlands of the reservoirs nearby - plenty of places to walk with dogs and the children, or simply to take the air. Trent Park and Lee Valley are also close. Access is great out to the north or into town.
Property is composed of some modest but well appointed Victorian terraces as well as a few blocks built in the town centre offering good sized apartments. There are Edwardian semis available as well, which are usually large and with good-sized rooms. Larger houses - Victorian era detached properties and some Georgian residence - are in the Gentlemen's Row area.
Fabulously green and rural yet only half an hour from town, Enfield is getting more and more populated by first time buyers, commuters and families looking for the space and air it affords, as well as places they can easily afford.
