One of the best of London's city spaces, Finsbury Park itself is wide, open and a great place for an afternoon of lounging on a weekend. It's an excellent focal point for the area, which is one filled with young people and professionals who like the slightly bohemian lifestyle and want more value for money than they'd get in Camden, and also who want more space and openness than they might find closer in. There are excellent bars and clubs in the area, and restaurants galore.
Houses here are varied, naturally enough for an area that has seen boom and bust. The main streets are lined with many stores that reflect the hugely varied populace. But off these streets are large and peaceful streets filled with very fine Victorian houses, many of which are subdivided into lovely apartments and maisonettes - although there are also good examples which are still intact. Around the park is the best place, naturally enough, to find property, with excellent houses and superb flats offering lovely views of the green swathe that gives Finsbury Park its name, and its identity.
