Chelsea: An affluent area near museums and green spaces
Located in West London in the postcode district SW3, Chelsea is in the royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea and bounded to the south by the River Thames.
Upmystreet.com's neighbourhood snapshot of the centre of Chelsea states that the average family income of those living in the area is very high, as is the interest in current affairs.
A medium percentage of the houses are owned by those with a mortgage, which means that there is still a generous amount of property to rent in the area.
Of those living in the locality, a very high proportion is educated to a degree level and a low amount is couples with children.
The majority of properties in the area are large houses that have been converted into flats and are inhabited by affluent urban professionals.
Transport
Chelsea is served by a number of peripheral London Underground stations, including Sloane Square, which is on the Circle and District Line; South Kensington, which is also served by the Circle and District Line and the Piccadilly Line too; Earls Court, which is on the District and Piccadilly Lines; and Fulham Broadway, which is just on the District Line.
Eleven bus routes run through Chelsea during the day and five at night, including the N19 from Finsbury Park Interchange to Clapham Junction Station.
Back in 2009, a new London Overground station opened at Imperial Wharf, which is a short drive from the centre of Chelsea.
Just up the road from this station is Chelsea Harbour Pier, which is visited by the boats and ferries of London River Services - a division of Transport for London.
The nearest National Railway station to Chelsea is London Victoria, which is around a mile away.
London Victoria Coach Station is 0.76 miles away from the area and the nearest airport – London City – is 9.27 miles away.

Museum lovers will feel right at home in Chelsea as it is within easy reach of Kensington Palace, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the National Army Museum.
Those who have an interest in art can visit one of the borough's many galleries, including the Royal College of Art, the Saatchi Gallery and the Serpentine Gallery.

Overall, Chelsea is a great place for affluent urban professionals looking for property to rent in the royal London borough of Kensington and Chelsea as it features good transport links, schools and recreational and cultural opportunities.
