Letting Agents in Tottenham London N17
Area Comments
Fabulously connected and still a great place for deals on houses and flats alike, Tottenham is the archetypical North London borough, a rich melange of peoples and cultures, friendly and cosmopolitan.
The area is being heavily revamped and re-energised, with an involved and committed local council making services better all the time and piloting community projects all the time. The main streets of Tottenham are filled with great cafes and eateries and good local stores and grocers that provide everything you need; larger stores are to be found nearby for large-scale grocery shopping.
Whatever rough edges Tottenham might once have had are if not gone, then at least fading. This is becoming a middle class stronghold, although the traditional multicultural, deep London atmosphere is still here and very independent. In terms of housing, Tottenham has all the facilities of nearby areas, but it's generally much more reasonable.
Redevelopment of the area is making the old-style estates that Tottenham used to be known for into much more attractive and successful areas than they used to be. There are excellent opportunities for modern ex-council properties near the White Hart Lane area, which also sees some roads of very affordable, but becoming popular, 1930s houses; it's also wise to view in the Northumberland Park are for these properties.
The best properties though are surely found in the Bruce Grove / Bruce Castle area, as Tottenham makes its way towards Seven Sisters. Here are lovely roads of Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses, attractive at any price, but still at very competitive levels at the moment. As Tottenham continues to become more and more a place for those pushed out of Highbury or Finsbury Park, and as the middle class families who might previously have plumped for Crouch End come here, the cafes along the high street are becoming more and more cool, restaurants more upmarket, and the properties more desirable.

Fitzrovia: Variety aplenty
In central London, few places feel more foreign than Fitzrovia. The district, as well as its close neighbour Bloomsbury, is the closest a London resident can get to living in a European city. Of course, you'll have to excuse the chronic lack of sunshine, but the combination of close cobbled streets and extravagant squares gives Fitzrovia a definite Barcelona-esque feel. Its location in central London - lodged between Bloomsbury and Marylebone - makes it ideal for those who prefer their conveniences … well, convenient. You can work, shop and eat within just a few streets of where you live. Perfect.
