Shepherds Bush: An affluent area with a huge array of things to do
Located in the West London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, Shepherds Bush is 4.9 miles west of Charing Cross and is in the postcode district W12.
According to upmystreet.com, the average family income of those living in the W12 postcode area is high and the majority of the residents are educated to a degree level.
A high proportion of those living in the area has an interest in current affairs but a low-to-medium proportion has children and satellite television.
Some of the large, attractive houses in the area have been converted into flats and a high number of these properties are rented.

Transport

The area is serviced by four other stations - Shepherds Bush Market, Wood Lane and Goldhawk Road on the Hammersmith and City line and White City on the Central Line.

Schools
For those with children or couples looking to expand their families in the near future, Shepherds Bush offers a number of great primary and secondary schools.
In 2010, 96 per cent of pupils at St Stephen's Church of England Primary School achieved a Level 4 in their maths and English Sats, compared with the national average of 73 per cent.
As for local secondary schools, 67 per cent of students in Year 11 attending the area's Burlington Danes Academy achieved five A* - C grades in their GCSE exams in 2010. This was 13.6 percentage points higher than the national average.
At Phoenix High School, 44 per cent of the GCSE students achieved five A* - C grades.
Things to do
Shepherds Bush Green is home to the Westfield shopping centre, which is the largest urban shopping centre in Europe.
The West12 shopping centre, which boasts a supermarket, cinema and gym is also located in Shepherds Bush Green.
Those who enjoy evenings out will find many venues of interest on Uxbridge Road, Goldhawk Road and Askew Road in the form of restaurants and pubs.
Music lovers can head to the Shepherds Bush Empire, a venue built in 1903 that has hosted performances by hugely popular acts such as David Bowie, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones.
The Bush Hall and Ginglik venues also host live music events as well as DJ and comedy acts.
Theatre lovers in the area are also catered for, with the internationally-acclaimed Bush Theatre offering plays from some of the best new playwrights around.
With all of its transport links, excellent amenities and entertainment venues, those looking to move to a fun, safe and affluent area in London should definitely put Shepherds Bush high up on their list.
