Enfield residents to gain construction skills
People living in property to rent in the London borough of Enfield are being offered the opportunity to learn construction skills.
Enfield Council and Notting Hill Housing Association are providing paid placements to apprentices who are working towards construction qualifications.
People who want to train to work in construction trades including electrical, plumbing, brickwork, carpentry and decorating can do so through Notting Hill's Construction Training Initiative.
Councillor Ahmet Oykener, cabinet member for housing at Enfield Council, said: "This initiative brings growth, jobs and opportunity to the borough, giving people in Enfield a chance to help with making Enfield a better place to live."
He went on to say that there are currently four sites in the borough where these skills can be learned and practiced, but more opportunities will become available for local residents in the near future.
Last month, Enfield Council announced that it was working in partnership with Southern Electric to offer a range of energy and water-saving measures to local residents.
