Flats to rent in London: Property prices 'set to rise'
Those looking for flats to rent in the London borough of Stratford may be interested to hear that one Estate Agent expects property prices throughout the region to rise.
Franchisee of the Stratford office at Winkworth Richard Everitt revealed that he believes there will be an increasing demand in East London due to the Olympic Games, projects in the region and the creation of around 18,000 new jobs.
The area is very desirable and interest is not just because of the coming events, he explained.
"It is all pinned by the general regeneration of the area. With the Olympics, all it has done is it has accelerated it. The Westfield site opening up is going to be a major part of all this regeneration," he said.
Lloyds TSB reported recently that property prices in East London have risen by over a quarter since the hosting announcement was made in 2005, with values in areas close to the site soaring by as much as 69 per cent.
However, Mr Everitt warned that selling houses might be difficult in the coming market, adding that people may think they are "on the gravy train" but not all properties will be of a suitable standard.
