Camden community could benefit from investment
The introduction of more private housing is one of Camden Council's targets if it is to invest heavily in the North London borough.
Residents of property to rent in Camden and flats to rent in other parts of the region such as Gospel Oak, Kentish Town, Camden Town and Mornington Crescent could also be set to benefit from a raft of new services and facilities.
A decision as to whether or not there will be widespread investment in Camden, which already attracts a lot of young people due to its eclectic nightlife, will be made next week by the council's executive.
If the local authority does go ahead with the transformation of the area, it is hoped there will be improved facilities for young people, better pre-school and after school provision, enhanced health and well-being services and centres, as well as investment in local streets.
Keith Moffitt, leader of Camden Council, said: "This is an exciting opportunity to bring modern and tailored facilities to our communities, improving the quality of life for local residents."
