Hackney cycling classes up and running
Individuals living in property to rent in Hackney have the opportunity to learn cycling skills as part of a new scheme.
In a bid to help "maximise safety and fun while cycling", Hackney Council is providing training throughout the borough.
There are different types of classes available, including learning to balance a bike for the first time and gaining the confidence and skills to ride more comfortably on the roads.
Established cyclists can find out how to eradicate their bad habits, while parents can discover how to travel safely with their kids.
Councillor Feryal Demirci, cabinet member for neighbourhoods on the council, said cycling is healthy, inexpensive and environmentally-friendly.
"Our cycle training gives everyone the opportunity to build confidence to safely enjoy the excellent cycle routes in Hackney. I'd encourage anyone thinking about riding a bike or wanting to develop their cycling skills to get in touch and take up the free training on offer all year round," he added.
People living in Haringey can join in a floral bike parade this Sunday (August 28th), to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain.
