Hackney Council 'aims to tackle noisy neighbours'
Anyone living in property to rent in the London borough of Hackney who has a problem with noise pollution in their area is set to benefit from a new out-of-hours service from the council.
As part of Noise Action Week, which kicks off today (May 23rd), Hackney Council is extending its Noise Service.
The service investigates complaints about all noise-related nuisances, from barking dogs to building site disruption from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00 BST.
However, from this week, there will be ten additional hours on the night service.
Hackney Council has also increased the number of teams it has looking at late-night noise nuisances at the weekend.
Councillor Sophie Linden, cabinet member for crime, sustainability and customer services at the council, said: "The extended hours of the Noise Service, coupled with the new powers the teams will be using, clearly demonstrate our commitment to protecting the peace and quiet of our residents."
Last month, a new alcohol recovery service was launched in Tudor Grove to help those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Hackney and other property in the area.
