Event celebrates talents of Redbridge's disabled residents
An event took place recently to celebrate the talents of those with disabilities who are living in flats to rent in the London borough of Redbridge and other types of property.
The Festival in the Park was organised by Redbridge and Waltham Forest Learning Disability Partnership to mark Learning Disability Week.
It took place at Ray Park in Woodford Green and featured live performances from groups including a Zumba dance troupe, Woodbine Steel Pans and Out There Bollywood Dance.
Annette Easton, who attended the event with a group of people with learning disabilities, said: "It's been a good day, the dancing on stage earlier was brilliant and it's been really nice."
Attendees also got the chance to try out a number of different sports, including tai chi, hula hooping and football.
Earlier this month, the council launched a new online directory that helps residents, carers and people working in health and social care to find information on ways to maintain good health, remain independent and get involved in activities in their area.
