Famed as a getaway and a little island in the Redbridge Suburbia, Gants Hill offers excellent homes and access without having to trade your privacy or need for space away.
Though it has a good selection of local pubs, some fine restaurants, and a few choice retail outlets, Gants Hill is mostly (and justly) known as a residential area, although this doesn't really cover it: this is a very sought after place to live. The geography and the nature of the housing makes it somewhere you can easily get out of and into, but not a place that gets trampled through on the way to anywhere else.
Gants Hill offers basically everything that anyone looking for a classic - but upscale - suburban environment could wish for. The lovely Valentine's Park is a short walk away and a great open space to walk any time of year. There are several very good schools nearby - including selectives like Ilford County and Woodford County, as well as Valentines High School and Gearies. There's also a great little gym and fitness centre and a pool inside ten minutes travel from the area. Other facilities include a nearby comedy club. The area is very popular with footballers and there's always a chance of seeing someone famous from the Premiership walking by.
Homes here are mostly Edwardian, a mix of detached and semidetached properties. A good number of these are on the famous Commonwealth Estate, where many of the names are named after distinctive Colonies. Almost all have good gardens, and some have excellent grounds. The standard of Gants Hill housing is mostly very good; this is an aspirational, countryfied, and gentle community which is also very multicultural and accepting.
If you want an excellent and quiet place to live, with all the facilities that a town provides and little of the stress, then viewing property in Gants Hill is a fantastic place to start.
