What happens when tenants can't meet rent?
With the UK still in the midst of a recession, there may be some Britons who are concerned about their job security and who are wondering how they will pay their rent should they lose their income.
And landlords may also be wondering the same thing, after one property professional questioned online resource Money Wise about how they should deal with two tenants who had not paid their rent for two months.
The resource responded, stating: "As a landlord, you'll need to use your discretion as to whether your tenant is deliberately trying to get away with not paying their rent or whether their circumstances are genuine."
Readers were also told that property professionals need to consider whether they can afford the time and cost involved to carry out an eviction.
Workers may have chosen flats to rent in Notting Hill or another part of London believing this was a cheaper alternative to buying.
However, they may wish to ensure they have money saved to pay their rent should they be left out of work.
Penny Anderson, in an article for the Guardian, recently stated that renting property could be the "key" to flexible working.
