Tenants 'to benefit from safer kitchens'
Food enthusiasts looking for property to rent in Islington or other parts of London may be inclined to make a new kitchen one of their priorities when choosing a home to rent.
And such people may be pleased to hear that a new standard has been launched which will mean landlords will now be able to have the peace of mind that the installer they hire to carry out the work boasts the correct qualifications and is genuine.
The new Industry Standards Register (ISR) has been launched by the Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom Industries National Training Group (KBB NTG) and will help to regulate kitchen fitters by listing the details of all the ones who have been approved by the KBB NTG and the National Association for Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT).
Commenting on the news, John Andrews, chief executive officer of the NAPIT said: "The difference between getting an appliance fitted from a major retailer and buying it yourself is obviously, the piece of mind that they are using a skilled workforce."
