Islington residents 'benefit from safer roads'
House hunters may have another reason to live in property to rent in Islington following the latest announcement by the borough's local authority.
Islington Council said that road accidents across the North London area are down to an eight-year low.
Apparently, the number of people killed or seriously injured in road accidents throughout the borough was down from 227 in 2001 to 75 last year.
Greg Foxsmith, Islington Council's executive member for environment, said: "Keeping people safe on the borough's roads is one of the most important roles for any council."
He added that the aforementioned figures show that Islington's traffic calming policies are working, although he admitted there is still room for improvement.
People considering a flat to rent in Islington may want to choose to live in the bustling community of Angel, which offers a large range of shops and eateries, or they could opt for Highbury - a place that boasts beautiful green spaces.
