Flats to rent in London helped by cycle hire?
Those looking for flats to rent in London can get some exercise on their way around the city, as a bicycle hire scheme has been launched.
Barclays Cycle Hire, the capital's new transport system, was opened today with 5,000 bikes available to members of the public.
There are 315 docking stations, spaced about 300m apart, where cycles can be picked up and left throughout the day and night.
Riders can travel through areas such as Notting Hill Gate, Regents Park and Wapping.
The plan is the brainchild of the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, who describes himself as a "passionate cyclist".
He announced it was a new dawn for the city, saying he hoped the "gleaming machines" would become as iconic as London buses and black taxi cabs.
"My crusade for the capital to become the greatest big cycling city in the world has taken a gigantic pedal-powered push forwards," the Conservative mayor added.
During the first month, Londoners and visitors will need to sign up online before participating.
