Brits told to wrap up at winter
Britons have been advised to take steps to ensure they stay warm over the coming weeks, as the Met Office warns temperatures are set to plummet and snow could be on the way.
The Department of Health is now warning that people should be aware of the risks they could face in cold weather.
When the temperature drops, the health authority advises people to have regular warm drinks and at least one hot meal every day, as eating regularly can help to keep up energy levels during the winter.
Wearing several levels of clothes, keeping as active as possible and wrapping up warm when going outside is also recommended - particularly with snow forecast to fall over London in the coming days.
Indeed, people looking for flats to rent in Notting Hill or another part of the capital may wish to enquire if the landlord has had the central heating and boiler serviced, as this could provide the peace of mind that it is unlikely to break down over the winter.
The Energy Saving Trust claims people looking for property to rent in London and elsewhere in the capital are attracted by buildings which are warm but cheap to heat.
