Tenants in flats to rent in Haringey could support local project
Residents occupying flats to rent in the London borough of Haringey may decide to back a local campaign that could see the area receive £50,000.
A public vote will take place tomorrow (November 25th) to decide which community project receives grants from a partnership set up by the BIG Lottery Fund and ITV called The People's Millions.
One of the entries is Haringey's Harmony Gardens, a gardening initiative taking place at Broadwater Farm and run by charity Back2Earth.
The council is asking for people to get behind the project, which aims to provide a leisure garden that is scented for relaxing and receptions, as well as a cordoned fruit tree tunnel walkway.
In addition, the development is intended to include an organic nature garden for children and beekeeping.
Kensington and Chelsea's Garden Buddies Scheme, which matches older people struggling to maintain their grounds with volunteers from the community, is competing against Harmony Gardens for the £50,000 prize.
