Research may increase interest in property to rent in Kensington and Chelsea
Individuals may be swayed to explore flats to rent in Kensington and Chelsea by the results of a new survey showing life expectancy in the London borough is the highest in the UK.
This is according to the results of the 2010 Halifax Quality of Life Survey, which examined 408 local authority districts and discovered residents of the area can expect to live to 84 years of age, a year ahead of second placed Westminster (83 years).
In its fifth annual study, the institution also revealed Kensington and Chelsea has the UK's highest average earnings, at £1,484 per week, as well as the best GCSE results.
Based on key indicators such as the housing market, health, education and environment, the study named the south-east of England as offering the best quality of life, with high levels of employment, wages, better weather and higher health ratings than much of the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, property to rent in Kensington and Chelsea may be a better option than buying, as the Evening Standard recently reported half of the homes in Kensington are now worth £1 million or more.
