Property to rent in Barking & Dagenham: Mark St George's Day with street parties
People in property to rent in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham are being encouraged to mark St George's Day in style by their local authority.
Barking & Dagenham Council is calling on people to hold street parties to celebrate the feast of England's patron saint on April 23rd, after noting that events held last year were a success.
The authority pointed out that homeowners and those in property to rent in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham wishing to host a street party need to complete an application form by March 11th.
It added that successful applicants could be awarded £450 in council money to help with the staging of their St George's Day event.
Liam Smith, leader of Barking & Dagenham Council, commented: "Barking and Dagenham's St George's Day celebrations are going from strength to strength.
"It would be great to see lots of street parties taking place," he added.
Last month, Hillingdon Council offered a range of support to local residents wanting to throw a street party to mark the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29th.
