Kensington dominates Rich St list
A huge proportion of the most expensive streets in England and Wales are to be found London's fashionable Kensington & Chelsea borough, new research has found.
All 20 of the nation's most exclusive streets fall within London postcodes, according to the Mouseprice.net survey, but it is two clusters around Kensington that comprise the highest concentration of elite dwellings.
Four of the top ten super-expensive roads are to be found near South Kensington Tube station, sandwiched between Fulham Road to the north and King's Road to the south.
They include second-place Chelsea Square, where the average property comes with a hefty price tag of £6.44 million. Close behind is Manresa Road at £6.19 million, while nearby Carlyle Square and The Vale both notch up average prices in excess of £5 million.
A short walk away in the Gloucester Road district several more residential roads make it onto the Kensington elite list, including Eldon Road, Albert Place and Victoria Road.
Overall, 11 of the 20 most expensive roads are within Kensington & Chelsea's borders, though the borough missed out on the number one spot.
That accolade fell to residents of Courtenay Avenue in North London's Highgate, where the average home will set you back a whopping £6.8 million.
