Green areas near flats to rent in London?
Aspiring gardeners looking for flats to rent in the London borough of Kensington & Chelsea could be in good company.
The area was named as the greenest part of the capital in June's Green Corners Awards by the Conservation Foundation, where it won five of the 11 accolades up for grabs.
Prizes were won in the categories of schools, health and well-being, mews, pavement and on the move, with winners including the Chelsea Open Air Nursery and Children's Centre's secret garden, an Estate Agent's pavement flowerbed and displays by Addison Place Mews.
Director of the Conservation Foundation David Shreeve commented that it had been a very green month despite the drought.
"We are delighted to see how many Londoners have put such care and thought into their green corners," he said, adding that he was pleased to hear about so many birds, animals and insects visiting the gardens. "London has much to be proud about."
Winners of the competition will be entered into the grand final, which will be held early next year.
