Chelsea starts search for next generation of footballers in Tower Hamlets
Young footballers living in property to rent in Tower Hamlets have the chance to show off their skills at a trial with Premier League giants Chelsea later this month.
Tower Hamlets Council's Sports Development Team has joined forces with the Stamford Bridge club and Elite Pro Sports FC to set up a search for the stars of tomorrow in the borough.
From Tuesday October 25th to Friday October 28th at Mile End Stadium, a series of skills sessions are being held between 10:00 and 14:00 BST each day.
They are open to boys and girls aged five to 11 and are free to attend, although places are limited and must be booked in advance.
Derek Bennett, senior football development officer on the local council, said: "Tower Hamlets has long been a hotbed of sporting talent.
"We have produced excellent players over the years who are either from the borough or who have trained here, including Ashley Cole, Ledley King, John Terry, Scott Parker and Jermaine Defoe who have gone onto carve out successful careers," he added.
