Bexley opens up extra parking facilities for Christmas shoppers
Those occupying flats to rent in Bexley will be able to take advantage of expanded parking facilities in the town centre this Christmas.
Bexley Council has taken the decision to once again make the car park of its civic offices available for public use during Christmas and new year, based on the popularity of a similar initiative last year.
This will provide shoppers with access to an additional 190 parking spaces over the festive period, running from December 16th 2011 until January 3rd 2012 inclusive.
Prices for parking range from £1 for up to an hour to £5.30 for up to 24 hours, meaning the facility offers good value, while it also provides Safer Parking Award status and uses CCTV to boost security.
A council statement said it is not only "an ideal location for people shopping in the town centre, but is also perfect for those who want to park their cars overnight while they attend a party or celebration".
This comes after a report from the council earlier this month revealed that Bexley offers some of the lowest parking charges in the region.
