A modern and bustling small town, Bexleyheath is only a hop and a skip from its older sister, Bexley, yet has a completely different character in every regard - whether it's in terms of shopping, social life, or property.
Whilst Bexley is defiantly a village, Bexleyheath is most definitely a small town. It has a town centre whose shopping compares well to other towns its size, with all the usual suspects in terms of brands and big name stores. The town has all the facilities in fact of larger suburbs, partly owing to its splendid transport to the coast and to London, with many hotels offering conference hosting, and a large number of local leisure facilities. The economy is thriving, and with it, local spending on schools, streets and other infrastructure.
Property in Bexleyheath is much younger than its neighbour, in general, with most of the housing dating from WWII and later. There are terraces dating from the beginning of this period, as well as semidetached properties
