It has benefited from being involved in the Peckham Programme regeneration, which is improving links with Brockley, Honor Oak, New Cross and other neighbouring areas. Generally the longterm working class feel of Nunhead (always the more genteel working class though it is) has been added to by an influx of more middle class aspirations and in many ways, as transport and local infrastructure, as well as local restaurants and bars improve, it's beginning to resemble more East Dulwich than Peckham, of which it is technically part.

There are excellent houses in Nunhead, particularly in the region of the cemetery. These blend the Victorian and Edwardian nicely, chiefly in terraces, some of which are subdivided providing excellent homes for professionals and couples, but many of which are found in their original guise.

Nunhead has great and improving services, and is spectacularly green for a place within 4 miles of Charing Cross. It has a Dulwich-like feel yet a Peckham-like energy, and is a great compromise for any first time buyers and those looking for a substantial property that's still affordable.
