Will house prices continue rising?
Many people believe house prices will continue to rise during 2010, according to a new survey.
Rightmove recently reported 53 per cent of respondents believed that the price of UK property would continue to climb this year - only a slight fall from the 56 per cent who felt this way during the fourth quarter of 2009.
Meanwhile, this is an increase from the ten per cent of Britons who predicted house price growth in the first quarter of 2009.
Furthermore, 46.8 per cent of people believe house prices will increase by up to ten per cent in 2010, while 6.7 per cent believe they will rise by more than this.
Should their prediction come true and property prices continue increasing, Britons may find it is more affordable to choose flats to rent in Hammersmith or another part of the capital, as London house prices are typically higher than elsewhere in the UK.
Commenting on the news, Jane Marr, company director at the Little House Company, said: "We anticipate as more houses come onto the market that you will see a levelling or slight reduction in property prices."
