Westfield 'creating jobs' for residents of property in Hammersmith
Residents of Hammersmith & Fulham are benefiting from new jobs created by Westfield London, it has been observed.
The shopping centre opened at the end of October 2008 and Nicholas Botterill, cabinet member for environment at Hammersmith & Fulham Council, noted that it has had a positive effect on the area.
"Local residents are making the most of the jobs bonanza created by Westfield," he stated, something that could be of interest to those thinking of finding flats to rent in Hammersmith.
Mr Botterill added that 1,500 residents have been given pre-employment training, in a bid to enhance their potential to find work.
Transport in the area is also said to have improved considerably, with the council finding that new bus routes and rail stations mean just 20 per cent of shoppers are travelling to the centre by car.
In January, Transport for London announced that those living in property in Hammersmith & Fulham would benefit from the addition of the new number 228 bus route, which would serve as a link to Westfield.
