Tower Hamlets residents to enjoy cleaner streets
People living in property to rent in the London borough of Tower Hamlets will enjoy cleaner streets over the coming months.
A total of 358 durable plastic bins are to join the 1,000 bins that are currently located in the borough.
These will be placed in busy locations across Tower Hamlets, such as shopping areas and outside schools.
Deputy mayor of Tower Hamlets, councillor Ohid Ahmed, said: "We want the streets of Tower Hamlets to be as clean as possible."
He went on to say that, by providing these new bins, the council is "making sure that residents and visitors have no excuse to drop their litter on the street".
Mr Ahmed said the borough will be showcased to many visitors when the Olympic Games heads to London and he wants to ensure these people go away with a good impression of the area.
Earlier this week, mayor Lutfur Rahman told those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Tower Hamlets and other property in the area that they were in with a chance of winning one of a hundred tickets to Olympic events.
