Parks 'make flats to rent in London even nicer'
People looking for flats to rent in the London borough of Tower Hamlets may be pleased to know that antisocial behaviour in the area is being tackled so that everyone can enjoy the open air.
As so many of the properties in the borough are flats, many people spend time in the parks and this can lead to problems, but officers are now on hand to enforce the law.
Lead member for the Environment at Tower Hamlets Council Shahed Ali explained that the increased patrols as part of Operation Heatwave will put a stop to bad behaviour.
"In a borough where 90 per cent of homes are flats our parks are of vital importance. We want to ensure that everybody can enjoy them," he said, adding that a few troublemakers should not be allowed to spoil other people's fun.
The area also has over 100 sports clubs and seven leisure centres.
Tower Hamlets enforcement officers and community park rangers have already notified the police of one man who was carrying a knife in public.
