New planning rules 'could derail housing construction'
property to rent in London may become a more attractive proposition to young first-time buyers after it was reported that new planning rules set to be announced by the government might not offer a boost to construction.
The Times indicated that the possible abolition of housebuilding targets and minimum density rules in is a "radical and risky approach to the housing supply problem".
Furthermore, the publication noted that because there are not enough homes for sale to potential purchasers, prices remain high and are pushing out "all but the financially fortunate out of the market".
Expert Anne Ashworth suggested that first-time buyers should not expect any help from the emergency budget which takes place on June 22nd.
Meanwhile, Estate Agents Spicerhaart has claimed that new purchasers trying to get on to the housing ladder have not been helped by low interest rates set by the Bank of England, Mortgage Solutions reports.
Claims that first-time buyers will not get the assistance they require may encourage more people to consider looking for property to rent in the London borough of Hertsmere or elsewhere in the country.
