Folk artists set to descend on Havering for the Hornchurch Festival
Residents living in flats to rent in the London borough of Havering will be among those who will be watching a whole host of folk, acoustic and roots artists take part in the Hornchurch Festival.
This will be the first event of its kind and it will be taking place on Sunday July 3rd, at Fairkytes Arts Centre in the town.
Held between 12:00 and 18:00 BST, under a canvas in the gardens, legendary British folk musician Bob Fox will be topping the bill.
Visitors to the event have been told to bring their own picnic blanket or chairs to the event, at which there will be a licensed bar and refreshments available all day long.
Councillor Andrew Curtin, Havering Council's cabinet member for culture, towns and communities, said: "There are so many talented artists at this event that it is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when we support and encourage original talent in musicians and artists everywhere."
Recently, officials from Havering Council visited shops in the borough to check whether any of the children's toys being sold had harmful metals present in them.
