Flats to rent in Hammersmith may benefit from high-speed hub
Those seeking property to rent in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham may be able to enjoy the benefits of being near the high-speed rail hub for the capital, which will link the metropolis with Birmingham.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council has said it is urging transport secretary Philip Hammond to situate the station at Old Oak, something that will help regenerate the area and also provide it with easy access to the link, from which Birmingham will be just 49 minutes away.
It will offer an alternative to Euston for those visiting London and also provide an easy link with Heathrow Airport, the authority has argued.
Council leader Stephen Greenhalgh said: "The site has unrivalled transport connections and an interchange station here will allow passengers to disperse - taking pressure off the main London terminal at Euston."
Details of the route between the two cities will be announced by Mr Hammond later today (December 20th).
