Fashion designer Next moves in Westfield
Popular high-street clothes retailer Next has begun kitting out its store at the forthcoming Westfield London shopping centre.
The massive £1.6 billion development in Shepherd's Bush will not open its doors until this Christmas, but already retailers are moving to ensure their sites are fully prepared for the opening of West London's largest shopping centre.
PropertyWeek.com quoted Iain Johnstone, development director at Westfield London, as saying: "Next is one of our key retail partners and its store at Westfield London will be the second they have opened with us from our development pipeline."
Other fashion retailers who have already been handed over control of their stores in the 80,000 sq ft development include Marks & Spencer and House of Fraser, while a raft of restaurant outlets have also secured plots.
The development of the Westfield shopping centres comes alongside two new Tube connections for the area - Wood Lane on the Hammersmith and City line and Shepherd's Bush station on the new London Overground.
