Norwood Park gets outdoors gym installed
An outdoor gym has been installed in Norwood Park in an effort to encourage more people to take up exercise.
A local residents group - The Friends of Norwood Park - secured £44,000 from the Big Lottery Fund's Community Spaces programme to fund the initiative.
It means people who take up the option on flats to rent in Lambeth can look forward to keeping fit in an outdoor environment.
Councillor Sally Prentice, Lambeth Council's cabinet member for culture, congratulated the local residents for the campaigning they carried out.
"It's a fantastic example of what can be achieved when local people and the council work together," she added.
According to a spokesperson for The Friends of Norwood Park, the location has been a "massive hit" since it opened a few weeks ago.
The representative went on to note it is great to have equipment that is free to use and adds to the facilities already on offer.
