Canary Wharf owner 'agrees' joint venture on Walkie Talkie
Office workers looking for flats to rent in the City of London may be interested to read that a joint venture will reportedly be finalised next month.
The Financial Times reports that the Canary Wharf Group is to link up with the UK's largest property company Land Securities to build the 500 ft high tower on Fenchurch Street, which has been dubbed the Walkie Talkie.
Indeed, the publication noted that office space in the Square Mile has been in short supply for some of London's big companies, with only a handful of new developments like the Heron Tower providing new opportunities.
It said that, should the deal be finalised next month, construction is likely to begin in September.
News that the Canary Wharf Group is entering into a joint venture to help develop a £350 million office development may be of interest to people looking for property to rent in the London Borough of City of London - especially to those who could be working there soon.
