£23mn redevelopment plan unveiled for Croydon
Individuals looking for a flat to rent in Croydon may be pleased to hear Mayor of London Boris Johnson has issued a call to investors to help him make the borough a "great" area in which to live.
He made his comments following the announcement of a £23 million investment in the area to help provide regeneration support following the riots that were witnessed in August.
"Its people deserve to live in attractive surroundings and the rest of London needs the jobs, opportunities and economic growth that Croydon has so often created throughout its long history," Mr Johnson stated.
The funds will see work carried out on the key access routes into the area, as well as repairing the high street, supporting local businesses and in making Croydon generally more welcoming to visitors, with improved pedestrian access.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of London's Outer London Fund recently revealed £516,000 is to be offered to Croydon Council for the upgrade of the borough's Central Parade.
