Understanding electricity units 'helps avoid needless expense'
People looking for property to rent in the London borough of Hounslow or elsewhere in capital are being told the secret to avoid "throwing money away" on electricity bills.
James Strawbridge, a TV presenter and eco campaigner, revealed that understanding the number of units a person uses is the key to reducing costs.
He even admitted that he used to be unaware of what a kilowatt-hour is and did not know it is a unit of electricity, but he told people, including those looking for property to rent in London, that the solutions can be very simple.
Indeed, the expert pointed to the "bit of Scrooge" in everyone as they realised where they are wasting money, so thoughts change to whether to leave on a switch or to turn heating off while not being in the room.
The Residential Landlords Association revealed that more tenants are seeking landlords that factor in energy efficiency, particularly with the reduction of carbon emissions and environmental concerns being "front and centre over several years".
