People in flats to rent in Hillingdon could enter film-making competition
Budding film-makers occupying flats to rent in the London borough of Hillingdon may be interested in entering a film-making competition.
Residents from eleven London boroughs have been invited to enter a 90-second piece based on the theme of Capital Tales, with the victor receiving £500.
In addition, the competition winner from each of the participating areas will gain a place at a workshop run by professional film-makers, with one of the successful entries being screened at the 2011 Baftas.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said there is an up-and-coming director in the mould of Danny Boyle or Gurinder Chadha waiting to be found within the capital.
"This scheme is a terrific opportunity for future Brit-flick innovators and potential Hollywood blockbuster directors to hone their film-making skills," he added.
The project was initially piloted last year, with the London boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Islington and Merton among those taking part this year.
