Fabulously multicultural with a wealth of local stores, Kenton has shops that cater to every interest. If you need more than you can get on the wide main street, it's a very quick trip to Wembley or Harrow for a wider range of stores. This is a clean area, with good air and a sense of openness increased by being close to huge areas of woodland, set in and around the large Fryent Country Park.
Above all perhaps Kenton is a community. People are generally friendly and you'll get a lot of hellos in the streets. For nights out, it's easy to get to Wembley or to Harrow, or just a dash to town, although there are good, and often very reasonable, local eateries aplenty.
The streets around Kenton are a riot of good houses, many of good size, for not a lot of money at all. There are new developments of flats in the area, catering to the single or couple of professionals, but in general this is a place of mid-war semis which are perfect, with their ample rooms, occasional off-the-road parking, and good gardens, for growing families. There are some grand roads with huge, detached near-mansions in the area as well, especially as the area blends into Kingsbury, and a few roads with 1930s properties.
If you're looking for a bargain in the NW London area, it'd be a good idea to put friendly, relaxed Kenton on your list.
