New town may lead to more flats to rent in Barnet
There may be a rise in the number of flats available to rent in the London borough of Barnet after the council announced it has approved plans for a new town to be built on the border of Brent.
The Harrow Observer reports that the £4.5 billion project will create new transport links, schools and homes, as well as 27,000 jobs.
Jonathan Joseph, from Brent Cross Cricklewood Development Partners, said the regeneration will bring much-needed investment into Barnet and North-West London at an important time.
"A vital part of our work moving forward will be engagement with local people and the wider community to ensure that everyone is fully involved with and informed of our plans," he told the news source.
Earlier this week, Barnet Council announced it had been chosen by the government as one of the 16 authorities that will be trialling a community budget programme designed to combine several public sector resources.
