Final year students 'may need help'
Students are increasingly feeling under financial pressure as they approach their final year of university, new research has revealed.
According to HSBC and the National Union of Students, final year students are now more likely to rely on the income of a part-time job in order to meet their outgoings, such as rent, bills and food.
Indeed, over 40 per cent of final year respondents rely on the salary of paid employment, compared to 26 per cent of young people in their first year.
And students are also becoming increasingly concerned about the state of the economy and how it will affect their ability to find work once they finish their studies.
Meanwhile, 59 per cent of students are reliant on monetary support from their parents.
Students living in the capital may wish to look for property to rent in Blackheath or another part of London which they can share with friends if they wish to keep their costs down.
The Residential Landlords Association recently reported that more people are attracted to the flexibility renting a home can afford, with 11 per cent of adult Britons now renting a property.
